    Abstract
Jeremy Cares documents the development of Peace in Jesus Lutheran Church’s Vietnamese ministry in Boise, Idaho, tracing its roots from early outreach in the 1990s to its growth and transition between 2003 and 2007. Led by Pastor Daniel Kramer and Staff Minister Dave Malnes, the ministry focused on building trust through ESL and citizenship classes, cultural sensitivity, and community service. Innovative approaches such as Bible studies based on Vietnamese proverbs and monthly “come events” fostered engagement and spiritual growth. The congregation evolved into a self-sustaining body, with Vietnamese members stepping into leadership and service roles following the phasing out of the staff minister position. Despite cultural challenges and language barriers, the ministry flourished, demonstrating the power of God’s Word in cross-cultural outreach. Cares highlights the congregation’s journey as one of faith, resilience, and mission-driven transformation. —Abstract prepared by Microsoft Copilot (GPT-4)
