    Abstract
A pastor’s life is not always joy and happiness. Along with the responsibility of serving God’s people comes struggles and heartache. If these pressures continue to build up, the stress could have devastating effects. Burnout is a real threat. This essay offers encouragement to stay faithful to the calling God has given, while also remaining capable of the load. The key is seeing the ministry as God’s work, and not as pastors’ tireless efforts to keep the church together. God’s ministry is a gift and it is his work. Pastors have the joy to share in the work.
