    Abstract
Even after a brief examination of passages from 1 John 2; 2 Thessalonians 2; Revelation 13,17; Daniel 7, 8, one must come to the conclusion that the Antichrist must reside in Rome and come from within the Church. The historical testimony to the Antichrist is varied. Some early church fathers believe that the Antichrist is an end times figure, however, as history progressed it became more and more obvious that in light of Scripture the Antichrist was the papacy.
