The relationship between a pastor and principal is vital for the life of the church and school. Work obligations and working relationships within Lutheran elementary schools have the potential to create added stress for pastors, principals, teachers, administrators, and congregations. At times, this added stress can distract from the gospel mission of both the church and school. Pastors are uniquely positioned to serve with a principal as he carries out his responsibilities. Pastors are also uniquely trained to use the gospel to nurture their relationship with principals. By identifying the unique challenges and blessings of working with principals, pastors can better determine how to improve their relationships with principals in a Lutheran elementary school.en_US
