    Abstract
Pastor Waterstradt presents a study of the history and formulation of the Nicene Creed. He includes past threats, such as Arianism, which necessitated its formulation, and a brief outline of the life of Athanasius, one of its chief proponents. He provides an exposition of the Creed and its meaning for Confessional Christians today, as well as the threats to the Christology it preaches, particularly Rationalism and Pietism. Several helpful appendices are included.
