| dc.description.abstract | Multi-site ministry has captivated the attention of congregations in recent decades by showing
the potential for greater impact in surrounding communities. This thesis investigates the nuances
of multi-site ministry by means of literature review, scriptural basis, and case studies. WELS
congregations found in Iowa, Arizona, and Florida/Texas were analyzed in the case studies. The
interview questions delve into the origin of that specific multi-site, the work that is carried out in
the local communities, and the fostering of a mission mindset in the congregation. While
exploring the landscape of this intriguing format, this thesis uncovers what factors are necessary
to promote a mission mindset which includes, but is not limited to, proper staffing and defined
leadership roles. Depending on a few key factors, multi-site might be a feasible (or even
advantageous!) option for your congregation. Yet, developing multiple sites is not automatically
a revitalizing approach. This study directs its readers to healthy methods behind this popular
