There has been a resurgence of the study of apologetics in Lutheran circles recently, in the Missouri Synod as well as the Wisconsin Synod. As our society continues to become more and more “post-Christian,” Christians and members in the WELS are asking for more information about how to defend their faith. This post-Christian society is one that our students are entering after high school, but in some cases even earlier. Some of our WELS elementary students go on to a public high school and do not receive additional biblical education. Neither do they receive much instruction on how to defend their faith against the questions that will be placed before them. It is primarily with these students in mind that this thesis will explore how to begin introducing apologetics in middle school.en_US
