    Abstract
Isaiah's Song of the Vineyard (Isaiah 5:1-7) is one of the most poignant parts of Scripture. In it Isaiah artfully depicts the tender care that the LORD poured out on his vineyard, Israel, as well as his sadness and anger when Israel failed to produce the fruit that he cultivated and enabled them to bear. The Song of the Vineyard is the appointed Old Testament Lesson for Pentecost 20 this fall (2014), and this study helps pastors see the depth of God's gracious love for his people and motivate them to express it in as poignant and penetrating a manner as Isaiah himself did.
