    Abstract
    Predestination has tripped up many people in the past. This article presents many primary sources on predestination from such authors as Gehard, Calov, Quenstedt, etc. These great giants of Lutheranism sometimes stumbled to find the right words to describe election. But remaining tied to God’s Word was their joy as they wrote against Calvin and other errorists.
