The Development of the WELS Administration: 1850-1987
Abstract
Bradley Ragner thoroughly follows the growth of administration in the synod from 1850 to 1987. He highlights different themes such as the general reluctance for administration, the debate about full-time administration calls, church and ministry issues, leadership of district presidents, the growing workload of synod officials, the influence of the split with Missouri on WELS administration, and the growing pains of the developing an administration around a full-time workers.
