    Abstract
Professor Sorum gives a compelling argument for renewed efforts in equipping for lay service. He illustrates the pitfalls that both pastor and laity fall into, but also shows how those are overcome by Christ’s sacrifice for us. He then goes on to emphasize how the universal call to the “royal priesthood” of Christianity extends to all, and that it is the public minister’s job to equip, to encourage, and to exemplify as the servant leader.
