    Abstract
In response to the 40th Anniversary of the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC), Professor Thomas Nass writes this article to provide an update about where the CLC stands in 2001. Besides giving a statistical update on the synod, Nass focuses on what the CLC’s 2000 synod convention focused on: church fellowship. As a result, Nass reexamines various aspects of the break that first separated the CLC from WELS. This article is closely related to Professor Brug’s “The WELS and the CLC: Is there a doctrinal difference?”, which can be found here: http://wlsessays.net/node/4081.
