Gronholz writes, “The intent of this paper is assuredly not to glamorize, sensationalize, or to give unnecessary attention to the topic of Satanism and the occult. The purposes are: 1) To provide information which demonstrate the depth and breadth with which Satanism and the occult are infiltrating our world; 2) To assist you in recognizing signs and symptoms of involvement; 3) To provide you with an understanding of the various stages of involvement; 4) To provide you with some spiritual and practical guidelines as you counsel with members of your congregation, especially young people; 5) To provide in the attached appendices a bibliography of books on the subject; a listing of the more common symbols used by those involved in occult and Satan worship; a listing of those heavy metal bands which promote occult activities and Satan worship through their lyrics.”en_US
