    Abstract
Whenever the person of Christ is attacked, man is robbed of the assurance of the atonement. Jesus was like us in every way, except one: he was without sin. He needed to be like us, he had to live under the law and he had to die. Jesus was God in every way. He was God in the flesh and he had to be true God so that his death would count for all people. The doctrine of the two natures of Christ can be one of the most difficult doctrines to understand, but it will always have practical application to our preaching and teaching.
