    Abstract
Like many doctrines of Scripture the doctrine of church and ministry has been the subject of much controversy. The church is the gathering of believers. Christ is the one who builds up the church, but he has not given the church a divinely instituted structure for the way it organizes itself, but the church does have divinely instituted work. The church is to spread the gospel whether privately or publicly, through its called workers. In this paper, Gawrisch highlights many aspects of the doctrine of church and ministry— from ways Christ describes his relationship to the church to the priesthood of all believers, all while going back to the source: Scripture.
