    Abstract
Gawrisch opens by pointing out the discrepancies between the “Statement of the Forty-four” and the “Brief Statement.” The “Statement” openly contradicted the “Brief Statement” in that it denied Romans 16 applied to all Christians. Gawrish demonstrates that Paul’s admonition in Romans 16 does indeed pertain to all Christians, particularly those who teach falsely. The motivation in staying away from those who teach falsely is love. Love for Christ. Love for his Word. Love for the unity of believers.
