    Abstract
Though little is known about Habakkuk beyond what he tells us about himself, the question he poses in Habakkuk is known to many: “Why does God permit evil?” The highlight of the book, however, is found in 2:4, where we are reminded, “The righteous will live by faith.” This is the ending verse of the portion which Gawrisch examines. Gawrisch offers deep exposition of these four verses as well as some homiletical helps and multiple suggestions for theme and parts as wells as an outline for one of the themes.
