    Abstract
Many have sat in a Sunday school classroom where the teacher finished teaching the story of the Good Samaritan and emphasized the moral application. We learn through the Good Samaritan that we too should be helpful and love our neighbor. This however only speaks to an outward keeping of the law and does not aim at the heart. The children in Sunday school need to hear law, but they also need to hear Gospel. Gawrisch reminds teachers that in order to guard against moralizing they need to distinguish between law and gospel.
