The Effects of Luther's Catechisms on the Church of the 16th Century
Abstract
There was a great need for the German people to know the Bible and their Savior. Luther saw the need and had a fix. Not only did he translate the Bible into German and write his own worship order so that the people could participate, but he also wrote catechisms. This idea was not his creation, but he took the catechisms he produced and put the simple truths of God’s Word into the hands of the people. This didn’t just impact the 16th century, but has lasted to the present day.
