    Abstract
Free will sounds so good. We are free to make so many different choices throughout the day, so why could we not choose to invite Jesus into our lives? Why can’t coming to faith be a process which we follow? The answers are found in the doctrine of justification, but also the doctrine of sanctification. It is important not to mix or reverse the two. If the two are mingled, all of Christian doctrine will be affected, from theology to eschatology. Synergism, however is not a new problem, it came to a head with Aquinas and even affected the Synodical Conference.
