    Abstract
In this Quarterly article Professor Cherney examines the different issues of choosing a Bible translation. He explores the interplay between functional equivalence and formal correspondence, the complexities of what it means to be faithful to the original text, the needs and expectations of the readers, and gender inclusive language. He accurately portrays the complexities of translation while working through the issues of evaluating translations.
