Don't be afraid! Cheer up! It's the cross!
Deutschlander, Daniel M.
If Professor Deutschlander had written two more chapters for his book, The Theology of the Cross, these would be those chapters. Deutschlander shows us the pains and struggles that come from being a disciple of Christ, but he also shows us the absolute joys Christ gives us. He gives examples of crosses that Christians suffer, but Deutschlander also answers the one question everyone wants to know: Why would our Lord ever let these crosses enter our lives? Deutschlander masterfully examines the paradox of the cross and shows us how exactly God uses these crosses to give us ultimate joy.
An essay on the theology of the cross presented to the Arizona-California District Convention in Mesa, Arizona, June 14-16, 2010.
